Great curriculum, copy I received not so great

I love the Music for Little Mozarts series! My younger students enjoy this series and I recommend it highly! However, I do have a complaint for the most recent copy I ordered and there was no place to contact the seller so I supposed I would write a review. It was supposed to be brand new and it was packaged fine but the book was placed inside the package FOLDED. Music books (or any kind of book) should never be folded, especially when being shipped long distances. Anyway, besides that one incident, I am very pleased with Music for Little Mozarts and my orders.

Fun start in music!

Love the Music for Little Mozart method. Been teaching it for 15 years and my students love the different ways to enjoy music. A great way to start young children !!! The workbook is simple, colorful and fun to learn the basics. I would definitely give it 5 stars!!!!

Fun supplement to the Lesson book

I bought this book to use with a 5-year-old piano student of mine. I had started her in the Alfred Basic Prep Level A, which is where I would normally start a kindergarten student. She was instantly taken with the characters. I used the lesson book and this workbook, and she started to make great progress. Sometimes "theory" can be tough for students to complete. This book has lots of color-by-note and other activities that don't seem like such tough work. (What kid doesn't enjoy coloring?) I think of this more like the Notespeller books from the Prep and Basic series, rather than the Theory books. At any rate, she didn't object to doing any of the activities, so that's good.

Fun way for little ones to learn piano

We just enrolled our 4 year old in private piano lessons and this is the book the teacher uses. The teacher already had Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. What a great idea to keep little kids interested and help to have fun while learning! So far our daughter loves it.

Good for very young students but slow moving.

These are cute, but as a piano teacher I’m disappointed with how slow they move. The age level is good for a 5 year old but it is too repetitive and slow moving. Maybe these will be better for a parent who doesn’t know music well but wants to help their child learn.

Music Theory and Ear Training

In Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts, students follow their friends Mozarts Mouse and Beethoven Bear in exploration of musical sounds and concepts as they learn to play piano. The workbook has written and listening exercises to strengthen young students' aural skills. There is actually only one coloring assignment, which is to color Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear at the beginning of the book. This can be done for homework if instructors do not want to use up valuable lesson time coloring. The exercises in the workbook are fun and easy and correspond to exercises in the Little Mozarts lesson book. I recommend using the workbook along with the lesson book, discovery book and flash cards. See my review of the Deluxe Starter Kit, which includes these materials, along with the Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear plush toys. My one complaint is that the note 'G' is not covered in the first level. Topics covered in the Workbook include the following. (You can also "look inside" the book to see the Table of Contents). Color Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear Curved fingers High and low Loud and soft for listening examples Up and down Write in finger numbers 2 black keys and quarter notes 3 black keys and quarter rests Half notes and half rests Whole notes and whole rests Color notes A,B,C,D,E Middle C position

Great for little ones

My daughter started her piano lessons around 3 1/2. These books are perfect for little ones just learning how to play the piano.

Sold

I love this series. I have taught my grandchildren to play piano using this program. I first bought a bundle of this at a Garage Sale and fell in love with it. I have since continued to buy this for each child. I take them completely through the series and they are able to easily read music and on top of that, they love music.

Such a good book for pre readers.

This is a great book for pre readers. My son just turned 6 and his piano teacher uses this. It's so simple and easy to understand.

Just what we needed

Just what we needed. We have used this series on 4 children and really like it.
